We will soon get to see Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan on TV. The reason? Like father-in-law, like daughter-in-law. Didn’t understand still? Well, as Amitabh Bachchan had hosted KBC, Ash is also going to be a host. It will be a chat show, which will be hosted by the gorgeous looking lady herself.
The Bachchans have now grown into a tradition of hosting shows. First, it was the senior Bachchan, who hosted KBC and Big Boss. Following his father’s footsteps is Abhishek who is currently engaged with the work of hosting ‘Bingo’. Now after the males dominating the hosting among the Bachchans, how can the females be far behind? It is really getting curious as how the junior Mrs. Bachchan will look as a host!

The MSN conducted a Decade Special for Bollywood online poll for the ‘Hottest Bollywood couple of the decade.’ A whooping total of 38000 polls were recorded and the Salman – Katrina pair bagged the first place with 36 percent of total votes leaving the Abhishek – Aishwarya couple to 27 percent of the votes. Actor couple Bipasha – John scored 13 percent and big surprise came last. The Saifeena couple scored only a mere 6 percent of the total votes despite their best efforts to publicize their pairing.

Besides the ‘Hot couple’ category MSN also had other categories like the ‘Hottest liplock of the decade’ and the ‘Superstar’ of the decade. The Emraan – Mallika liplock in ‘Murder’ bagged 39 percent of total votes and topped the list.

Voting is also conducted for the ‘Worst film’ category and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Aag’ topped the list along with the sci-fi movie ‘Drona’ with nearly 48 percent of the total votes.

The filming of Maniratnam’s ‘Ravan’ is over and post production works are in progress. Initially the director had some reservations in making Aishwarya dub for the movie but on hearing her mouthing the language he was very much impressed. Throughout the filming of ‘Ravan’ she was tutored well in Tamil. The dedicated pupil learned it fast and she expressed her proficiency at the dubbing studio and raised the eyebrows of many.

She made her debut in Tamil with the same Maniratnam’s team in the earlier flick ‘Iruvar’ and at that time the language was Greek to her. They say it takes tough practice to become fluent in Tamil. The lady has mastered the language in few months and expressed her dedication in work to everybody’s awe. She was appreciated by the film unit not only for speaking in Tamil but also for using the right accent in the right places.

British actor Sir Ben Kingsley, well known for his Oscar-winning performance as Gandhi (1982) is set to play the role of Shah Jahan, who built the famous Taj Mahal for his beloved wife Mumtaj, in the upcoming film ‘Taj.’ It is said that Aishwarya Rai plays opposite to Ben Kingsley in this film as Mumtaj. The shooting is scheduled to start in the month of July and the prime location of shooting is said to be Agra, where the actual Taj Mahal is located. The film is planned to release in 2011. Kingsley’s wife Brazilian actress Daniela Lavender plays the role of Shah Jahan’s first wife, Gandhari Begum, the Persian princess. Kingsley’s company, SBK productions is producing the film. The story of the film has important role for Shah Jahan’s first wife, who was active in the king’s household matters. It is said that Aishwarya is very much delighted and immediately accepted the offer for the role.

The latest news in Bollywood is that Aishwarya and a south star Vikram luckily escaped a bomb blast while shooting for the Maniratnam’s film ‘Ravan.’ For the shoot, it is said that they used a petrol bomb and it was hurled from a distance of 25 feet and it is supposed to explode in mid air. Unfortunately, unlike planned, the bomb didn’t explode and it fell near the film couple Aishwarya and Vikram and they ran for life and escaped. It was planned to accuracy but didn’t go well at the first instance. The whole unit was in shock and the director got tensed much. But the actors enacted the scene well again and it was shot well. It is said that the director wanted to shoot his real life bomb scare where a bomb was hurled at him and it exploded in mid air after the release of his hit film ‘Bombay.’

Abhishek feels that he has the coolest wife he can ever have on earth. In an interview recently he emits a sigh of relief and says there are no women in his life who are shopaholics. Both his mother and wife are not much interested in shopping. He also says that he would love to take his wife on a shopping spree but Aish would remain uninterested. He says he loves to give them gifts. He praises so much about Aish that he has a down to earth wife who would come to Stanford Bridge to watch soccer match and cheer louder than him. He adds that she knows more about video games than he does. She loves to watch action movies. He also revealed that while they were dating they went and saw movies like X-men and feels very cool about it. He concludes that his marriage is just great.

It is said that Bipasha was offered to play the role of Abhishek’s wife ‘Mandothari’ in Maniratnam’s much hyped ‘Ravan.’ But later she was dropped out after much of rehearsals, dress fittings and 20 days of allocation. It is rumored that she was dropped because her character was much of a threat to Aishwarya’s and Priyamani’s character. Bipasha is very much upset but she claims that it was an amicable decision between the director and her.
When asked for comment she says, “I am sad but it’s better than having my role chopped or totally edited when lot of effort had gone to work out the role for this guest character.” She also says that initially she was a part of ‘Ravan’ but Mani sir said that he could not do justice to the character as it would conflict with the main story. She said her role was not dropped because it threatens Aishwarya’s character.

Aishwarya was offered an award in the India Today Woman Summit and as she was not able to attend it because of sore throat, Abhishek Bachchan stepped in her shoes and took the award. The organizers of the event wanted Abhishek to take the award on behalf of Aishwarya and it required lot of coaxing to make Abhishek fill up Aishwarya’s space. It is said that she had severe swelling behind her tonsils and she was not able to speak or swallow food. She developed high fever and was taking only fluid diets. Big B posts in his blog that Aishwarya had a restful day and there was slight improvement in her condition. Abhishek came off from his shooting of ‘Crooked’ and took good care of his wife and he even attended the India Today Woman Summit on behalf of her. It is said that she is far better now and she has even gone back to her schedule recently.

After a brief rest towards her sore throat and visit to Bhopal to see Abhishek’s grandmother, Aishwarya is back in action for Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replay.’ Doctors advised her to take rest for few days but she is back to work early.
Her illness was misinterpreted by ‘Mumbai Mirror’ as ‘stomach tuberculosis’ and the tabloid even mentioned that because of her illness she will not be able to conceive. The news appalled Abhishek and Amitabh and they both criticized the tabloid for its ‘irresponsible journalism.’
Abhishek wrote in his twitter, ‘The article is disgusting and appalling. As a husband and a man I’m shocked that one can talk so irresponsibly about a woman, that too falsely! On a personal note, as a husband I will not stand for such rubbish being written about my wife,’
Aishwarya is not available for comment over this article but she is back in full swing and busy with Endhiran, Ravan, Action replay and Guzaarish.

Vipul Shah is totally upset. No one is responsible but the weather in Manali. He has planned a duet song with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai for his film ‘Action Replay.’ They have planned the whole song sequence in Manali and they were confident about the weather. But it was surprised to learn that it is snowing in Manali in February! It is said it never happened before. They cancelled the shoot and returned home. They wanted to shoot a song about a couple romancing in winter like Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz in the ‘Karvaten badalte rahe’ in ‘Aap Ki Kasam’ in Manali. Shah is very upset as he has to find alternative dates for the Manali song. But considering how busy Akshay and Aishwarya are, it is going to be a tough time for him to get the dates. He may as well drop the song sequence rather than delay the film release.
