With her crowning glory in 1994, there has been no looking back for this green-eyed beauty. She worked as a model before fame touched her feet at Sun City, South Africa in 1994. Born on 1 November 1973, Aishwarya Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Iruvar in 1997 and had her first commercial success in the Tamil movie Jeans. One of the most beautiful women in the world came to the attention of Bollywood in the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her performance in the film won her the Film fare Best Actress Award. Later in the year 2002 she was seen in Bhansali’s next project, Devdas, which let her win her second Best Actress Award at the Filmfare. Her career hit a slight downfall during 2003–2005, but quickly scaled heights with her appearance in the blockbuster Dhoom 2, which also turned out to be her biggest Bollywood commercial success. Success then did not let her move back with her further blockbuster releases Guru and Jodhaa Akbar. Her career has a record of acting in various languages apart from doing Hollywood projects.
